Post-study permit to job-hunt or start a business

A one-year permit that lets a recent graduate stay in France to look for work or set up a business connected to their studies or research.
Only if you hold a French qualification at master's level or equivalent obtained in the last 12 months, or a talent-researcher card and have finished your research. It does not apply to Algerian nationals.
In the 2 months before your student or student-mobility card expires. Graduates applying from abroad have up to 4 years after the diploma.
At the préfecture or sub-préfecture for where you live, or at a French consulate if you are applying from outside France.
€150 if you apply in France — a €100 tax plus €50 stamp duty. Applying from abroad, the tax on validating the VLS-TS is €100.
- The permit runs for 1 year.
- While it is valid you can work without your employer applying for a work permit, provided the job relates to your studies or research and gross monthly pay is above €2,800.53.
- When it ends you apply for a work-based permit — employee, entrepreneur or talent — according to where you have landed.
This permit cannot be renewed.
