What is it
The application that has the French licence card itself made, either after you pass the exam or to replace one that has been lost, stolen or damaged.
Do I need it
Yes, if you have just passed the French driving exam and need the card issued, or if you already hold a French licence and no longer have it.
When
After your exam result for a first card; after you have declared the loss or theft for a replacement.

Online, on the ANTS driving licence portal, signing in with FranceConnect or with ANTS credentials.
Documents
A digital photo-signature
Proof of identity
Proof of address less than 6 months old
A medical opinion (cerfa n°14880) for category C or D
An electronic tax stamp, for a replacement after loss
How long
For a replacement after loss, about 15 days from the SMS telling you your online application has been validated.
Cost
Free after passing the exam. A replacement after loss needs a €25 electronic tax stamp.
What happens next

- After a loss, an attestation valid 2 months lets you drive while you wait.
- The licence is sent by tracked letter, so you can follow its delivery.
