The chip card that proves your health insurance rights, so pharmacies and practitioners are settled with directly instead of you filing a paper claim.

You need a permanent social security number and open rights with the Assurance Maladie before you can hold one. It is the normal way to be reimbursed for care.

Once your rights are open. A first card can be requested from age 15, or from 12 where the situation calls for it, and a form is sent out automatically at 16.

Online in your compte ameli or the Compte ameli app, or on the paper form your health insurance fund sends you.
