What is it
Your personal account with the Assurance Maladie, used to follow reimbursements, download an attestation de droits and run most health procedures online.
Do I need it
It is not compulsory, but most Assurance Maladie steps — ordering a Carte Vitale, printing proof of your rights, declaring a change — are done there.
When
Once you have a permanent social security number and your Carte Vitale. A temporary number (NIA) is not enough to open an account.
